"DNA replications occur in the interphase, and they occur before mitosis happens".
The phase in which a cell cloned or duplicate all their DNA (chromosomes) and organelles .
My Definition:
Definition:
The cell acquires nutrients, creates and uses proteins and other molecules, and starts the process of cell division by replicating the DNA.
Interphase
"The G1 phase is the longest phase that a cell have to undergo".
The phase where cells size grow and duplicate their organelles
My Definition:
Definition:
The first period in the interphase wherein the cell primarily grows in cell size
g1phase
"The S phase stands for synthesis phase".
A second phase of the interphase that let makes cells replicate their DNA
My Definition:
Definition:
A sub-phase in the interphase wherein the cell primarily duplicates its DNA via semiconservative replication
S phase
"When a cell experience the G2 Phase the cell will produce new proteins ".
Last phase of the interphase, where the cell grow some more in preparation of mitosis.
My Definition:
Definition:
A sub-phase in the interphase of the cell cycle wherein the cell continues to grow and then prepares for cell division.
g2phase
"Only during prosphase, the DNA will float freely ".
Phosphase, when the chromosomes and spindle fibers form. Attaching to each other.
My Definition:
Definition:
The phrase following interphase, in which during this phase the chromatin condenses (becoming more visible under a light microscope at high magnification) and initiating spindle formation
prophase
"M for metaphase can also be remembered as M for middle because the chromosomes align in the middle. ".
Metaphase is when the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell.
My Definition:
Definition:
The phase following prophase and preceding anaphase of cell divisions, and highlighted by the alignment of condensed chromosomes along the metaphase plate
metaphase
"The 'ana' in anaphase means 'back' ".
The phase in which each chromosomes break apart and move towards the cell's poles. Becoming chromatids.
My Definition:
Definition:
The phase following metaphase and preceding telophase of cell divisions , and highlighted by the separation and movement of chromosomes from the metaphase plate towards the poles of the spindle
anaphase
"In telophase the chromosomes turn back into chromatins ".
Telophase is where the nuclear membrane re-form, spindle fibers break down and a crease/cleavage form between the 2 new cells.
My Definition:
Definition:
The final phase following anaphase of cell divisions, and highlighted by the complete separation of the chromosomes.
TELophase
"Cytokinesis means 'cell movement'".
The phase where the cytoplasm divide and the two new cells move apart eventually they separate. This new cells/clones are called the daughter cells.
My Definition:
Definition:
The cytoplasmic division of a cell at the end of mitosis or meiosis, bringing about the separation into two daughter cells.
CYTokinesis
"Humans have 23 chromosomes that comes in pair, 46 individually. ".
Coiled strands of DNA. They carry our heredity information
My Definition:
Definition:
a thread-like structure of nucleic acids and protein found in the nucleus of most living cells, carrying genetic information in the form of genes.
CHromosomes
"Two chromatids makes one chromosomes ".
A half (identical) of chromosomes.
My Definition:
Definition:
each of the two thread-like strands into which a chromosome divides longitudinally during cell division. Each contains a double helix of DNA.
chromatid
"Centrioles are made out of microtubes .
A churro-like organelles that aid in cell division specifically production of spindle fibers.
My Definition:
Definition:
Each of a pair of minute cylindrical organelles near the nucleus in animal cells, involved in the development of spindle fibres in cell division.
CENTriole
TAXonomy
Definition:
The branch of science concerned with classification, especially of organisms; systematics.
Relating to system and classification of all organism.
My Definition:
"Taxonomy is the science of classifying living things!"
biodiversity
The variety of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat, a high level of which is usually considered to be important and desirable.
refers to the variety/variability of wildlife (animals and plants) in the world or a certain environment
Definition:
My Definition:
"Indonesia is home to millions of the world's biodiversity".
Six-kingdoms
Definition:
Organisms are classified into three Domains and into one of six Kingdoms of life. These Kingdoms are Archaebacteria, Eubacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.
My Definition:
A way that living things are grouped which fall into 6 different classification/kingdoms
"The six-kingdoms are classified to 3 domains and 6 kingdoms".
dichotomous key
Definition:
A tool that allows the user to determine the identity of items in the natural world, such as trees, wildflowers, mammals, reptiles, rocks, and fish.
My Definition:
A method to identify a particular object/living things in nature
"Dichotomous key is an organization chart filled with a organism key(characteristics) to help us identify them."
Classification of animals
Definition:
Order for us to understand how all living organisms are related, they are arranged into different groups.
My Definition:
An arrangement of how living things relate to one another creating groups.
"The six-kingdoms are an example of classification of animals ' ".
food web
Definition:
A system of interlocking and interdependent food chains.
My Definition:
Describes the connection of animals and plants through food chains.
"Food web are usually represented in graphical order".
Biome
Definition:
A large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat, e.g. forest or tundra
My Definition:
A group of plants and animals that lives/inhabit in a specific region.
"There are 5 main biomes and 12 major biomes."
ECosysytem
Definition:
A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment
My Definition:
A large community of different living organism
"Damaged or imbalance ecosystem can lead to many problem."
