Things i've learned:

What did you learn about English from doing the poetry project?

I get to learn about poetry, their different types and elements that make up poem such as rhyme, stanza etc. I also gain more vocabulary from making the poem.

What did you learn about Science from doing the project?

Because we had to make poetries about either nature and animals i did a lot of research in order to complete my own poem. One of the things i learned is the scientific name of alligator, agapanthus and alpaca. I also did some research about the environment of the three subjects, so it will help me describe them to appeal to the reader.

What did you learn about Meta Level Thinking from doing the project?

When making the poetry book we, as a group discuss a lot of the overall process. We ask questions like "how are we going to do it?" "when are we going to do it?" etc. Thinking about the whole process help us to complete and submit our product in time. Here we make sure that everyone individually and as a group are aware of what they are doing, and what they should and can do to help one another.

What did you learn about social problem solving from the project?

This project is class project, and sometimes we have different opinions about the same things. This could lead to conflict but before it gets worse we make sure that we discuss it together in group chat hence problem-solving. I always notify other students in the group chat so that well informed about the poetry book and make sure that everyone did their part correctly.

What did you learn about leadership and adaptation from the project?

As i mentioned above, i make sure that other students are well informed about the progress of the poetry book and make sure everyone do their parts. I'm one of the people responsible for compiling the other students poem into the book as well as the decorating, so i have to let them know (guide them) what the format should be so i can do my work.

From this project we are able to make poems adapted from the selected theme and topic. First the theme is vintage and alphabet letter where we make poems based on the letter we have chosen in class in my case i got A. Then from the theme (decided by the teacher), which is animal and plants i determine what to write about. I wrote about Alligator, Alpaca and Agapanthus. We also adapt our ideas to different poetry types like ballad, ode and haiku.

What other things did you learn from doing the Poetry Book Project?

  • Creativity & Innovation
